I graduated from Trinity in 1991, and I just stumbled across this forum. What were the campus life issues in my day?
1) The autocratic administration of President Ron Calgaard, including a 3-tiered structure of student organizations imposed in order to prevent the establishment of a University-recognized gay/lesbian student group at Trinity, and the firing of the Admissions Director who was recruiting all those gay and lesbian students (or so the rumor had it).
2) The attitude of the administration to the rights of students: "The basic right of any Trinity student is to choose to attend another institution." (Paraphrase of Dean Colleen Grissom in the Trinitonian ca. 1988-1990)
3) Food service (then ARA Services, before the company changed its name to Aramark), including the reassignment of a beloved director (Steve someone) to elsewhere in the ARA(mark) organization.
4) Enforcement of alcohol policies.
5) People doing crazy things in Thomas.
6) The demotion of the tennis team from Division I to Division III. Trinity hadn't been Tennis Tech for at least a decade by that point, though we still had images of racket-wielding WASPs on the paper cups in Mabee Hall.
7) Hazing in the Greek organizations (including at least one alcohol-related death), leading to suspensions and a ban on the use of the term "pledging" by all TU organizations.
8) Shrinkage of the endowment (heh!) after the stock market crash of 1987.
I sense that while some details differ, people on this forum are complaining about, erm, discussing reasonably, many of the same issues (except the tennis program, I hope). So if it makes you feel any better, this has all been going on since before you were born.

I was going to do just that until I discovered that it would just give you pleasure, so I changed my mind.
